CI weekend was privy to a multitude of events in the city, but one really stood out to me amidst the number of events attended..Pop Up Boutique!
Nestled in Area 15 on North Davidson and 15th Street, a host of small businesses gathered to showcase their products and services for two days. While they moved around in the hallways and shops of Area 15 to prepare for visitors and new patrons, Stacie Bittle was just as busy. The organizer of this event was putting the final touches on the gift bags for attendees, walking the halls checking on everyone to see if they needed anything, coordinating with her graphic artist/assistant for the day to make sure they did not forget anything, and all the while beaming with a beautiful smile that kept everyone calm and ready!
“I am an event planner, who started with weddings more so” she states. “But my friends told me that I should really do other areas as well. I love the potential of networking, of meeting new people and bringing them together and learning about their business.” Truly she speaks the truth in this, as throughout our conversation she fluidly noted the need for small businesses like herself to be promoted and positioned for success. “The people here at Area 15 have been a great help in that” she says. “They welcomed us with open arms for this type of event, and the residents here have opened their arms to this too!”
As I walked along and viewed the tables, one could see the dream she has coming to light. From the natural hair/skin care line of Beloved Blossoms, the jewelry of Empowerment For Her, the Paparazzi line set up beautifully, and those desserts by Sweet Heavenly Bliss….yes! The DJ spinning hits on the side, and traffic flowed nicely as customers visited LeMond’s Modeling for vintage wear and Art by Abel showcasing magnificent pieces of art. The dream is realized for Stacie..as she plans to do this event monthly to provide a voice and outlet for up and coming businesses.
Well done Stacie…truly “Eventful”!
